 why would you trust their claims?Jan 02, 2010
I found out today that this type of water bottle, that I bought specifically because it was BPA free, was not in fact BPA free and the company was aware and did little to notify the public of its false claims that lead to its recall. I was very happy with my SIGG water bottle, but I am not willing to pay $7.50 to have it replaced with a water bottle from same company that is claiming that the newer liner is now REALLY the safe version. I thought that's what I paid $20 for 2 years ago. I do not trust SIGG products, I would not recommend using any of their products.

It took a long time to receive my product, however, it was not the seller's fault.
There was a problem with my post office agency which did not deliver the product.
After contacting, Amazon.com, and the seller, things were clarified.
The seller helped me finding out about what happened.
I am very pleased and satisfied with the product, with Amazon.com communication, as well as the communications with the seller.

 Remarkably fragile...disappointedNov 18, 2009
Wow. I bought this bottle 2 weeks ago for my daughter to take water to school. After DAY 1, it had a CRACK in the bottom because a ball hit it in gym class and knocked it to the floor. It was still usable because the lining wasn't cracked, just the exterior. By today, DAY 8 of use, a significant amount of paint has peeled off (it has not been in the dishwasher) and there are many dents. She's a remarkably careful kid whose things are very rarely damaged...and she's pretty disappointed.
Will be replacing with a stainless water bottle soon.
ALSO, read a review that said there's an issue with the coating used inside SIGG bottles...don't know if that applies to this one or not.
The reason I bought it was the lid screwed on and off very well ... several of the cheaper models I tried at the store didn't work too well. It is the perfect size for a kid to take to school...and it is very attractive in person.

This is a pretty nice bottle. The water tastes clean and doesn't seem to get stale as fast as in a plastic bottle. I hope that it's bpa-free--the company claims so, but then won't disclose what the liner is made of. I like the size--similar to a regular small water bottle so it fits in my bag. It does dent pretty easy. I'm also disappointed that you are not supposed to freeze it--I guess it splits or gets misshapen. Good array of colors, although I got "Undersea Love" and realized once I got it that the graphics seem to be of prawns having sex...no one else has noticed that yet. It is called "Undersea Love" though...

After reading an article about BPA leaching from plastic water bottles, I freaked out and immediately thought that I needed a stainless steel water bottle. If this is also what you are looking for, the ALUMINUM Sigg bottle may not be for you. Aluminum water bottles, like Sigg bottles, use a coating or liner and these liners may or may not contain BPA. I only found this out after I received a Sigg bottle as a gift from my work.
That being said, Sigg does state that their bottles have a "Non-toxic proprietary inner liner resistant to leaching; taste- and scent-neutral." If this sounds okay to you and you like the colors and designs Sigg offers, go right ahead and purchase a Sigg bottle. Since they are made from aluminum, they are surprisingly light weight (I have a one liter model and it feels lighter than my smaller stainless steel Klean Kanteen). But if you have media induced BPA-phobia like I do, get a stainless steel water bottle e.g., Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Colored Water Bottles with Poly Loop Cap.
